American Express Event Ticket Protection Plan

There’s good news on the horizon for American Express cardholders. The Event Ticket Protection Plan is just another way that AMEX takes care of its loyal customers. With this program, American Express cardholders won’t have to worry about missing out on an event due to medical emergencies and other major incidents.

The Event Ticket Protection plan is a way for AMEX customers to protect their investment in concert, sports or other event tickets. If you’ve ever missed on an event because of a major illness or a lost ticket, you can rest assured with this program. Any tickets purchased with your card will be reimbursed for an amount up to $1000.

There are, of course, a few stipulations to the plan. In order to get reimbursed for your event tickets, you must qualify for reimbursement. AMEX will only reimburse you if you miss the event due to a “Covered Incident.” These incidents include the theft of your tickets, a medical emergency, being involved in a transportation accident or jury duty.

The Event Ticket Protection plan is only available for tickets that you purchased with your AMEX card. There are certain exclusions and limitations, as with all types of insurance. If you have this protection on your AMEX card, make sure to read all of the details before you try to use the service.

If you have missed an event due to a “covered incident,” then you should contact AMEX immediately. If you know you will be missing the event prior to the date of the event, call in ahead and arrange to file your claim. There is a special number for the Event Ticket Protection Plan customer service center. The representatives at that number will ask for documentation related to your incident and give you instructions for filing your claim. The Event Ticket Protection plan is just another great reason to be an American Express customer.
